Pebbles Inc. card

Hello! I have another Pebbles creation to share with you. A little card that I put together using the Twitterpated line. Such a pretty yellow and the patterns all combine so easily!

I ran a border punch along the cutaway edge of the patterned paper to keep that extra bit of pink. Those paper flowers are great too! Love the texture! Be sure to head over to the Pebbles Inc. blog and check out what Anna and Melinda have created for today.

Thanks for stopping in!

Recipe for play

Hello! I have a new pp love. The Crate Paper Restoration line is soooo lovely. I have already used up what I bought and have to go back for more.

This layout is based on a challenge posted on the Studio Calico blog. The recipe for the page includes: 3 pics, mist, a frame, ledger pp and kraft. I flipped the frame and misted the back and the pics are matted with a ledger paper.

It was loads of fun to play along! I love recipes, layouts and sketches that include multiple photos. I find it much easier to scrap more than one photo and I really don't know why!

Thanks for stopping in! Have a great day!

Old fashioned ice cream

Hello. Happy Tuesday!

I love these pics of the kids! The clothes are so bright against the contrast of the black and white decor of the ice cream shop. I found that every time I pulled out brighter paper, it just didn't work for me. The page is super simple, but I really wanted to showcase the pictures. What do you think? Part of me wants a little mist but then part of me thinks that I will regret that addition...

I found a new font that I love. And of course, as I am typing this, I realize that the font is on the computer downstairs, where I do all my scrapping and word processing... I will have to get back to you on this one! Did you notice that I was feeling a little punchy? (Oh boy, it has been a long day...)

Chapstick bouquet

What do you call it? OTP (off the page) or BTP (beyond the page). Do let me know! Whatever it is, it can be fun.

A dear work colleague of mine is in the hospital. She is going to be off work for a very long time. We will miss her a lot! Along with her current issue, she has significant allergies. The one thing that she uses all the time, it the original Chapstick. She uses it on her lips and on cracks on her hands. She tells me it's the only thing she can use. So what do you give someone with a zillion allergies, but an affinity for the original Chapstick (she always has one with her)? A Chapstick bouquet, or something of the like.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but the vase is lined with packages of Chapstick. 20 actually. So as you spin it, all you really see are the black tubes. Tucked in the middle, to help hold the tubes against the sides, is a rolled up magazine and some Popeye candy cigarettes (she has been forced to quit smoking). Unfortunately, when we stopped in to visit and drop off the gift, she had just been taken away for another procedure. We left the gift and a card, and I am hoping that I can pop in sometime this weekend. Thanks for letting me share!

Have a great weekend!

Introduction at Pebbles Inc

Hello! My introduction layout is up at Pebbles! I played with the Tree House line for my layout. Love the bright colours and those little birds!

The journaling says: "I would describe myself as happy, athletic and creative. I love cream cheese filled jalapeno poppers, running and pop music. I enjoy working full time in health care and I cherish my family time. Scrapbooking is my way of keeping track of all the fun memories."

Did you notice the Glitter Candy dots? Seriously, how did I not know these existed? Great colours and an easy way to add a little dimension to the page. Be sure to head over to the blog and check out what all the team members have created. It is lots of fun to see how different each of the projects are, even though we are all using the same products!

Hello! Happy Sunday! Just a quick share today. Little man loves milkshakes and gobbles them up. Mind you, right now he is gobbling up everything in sight. He is likely growing.

One more for GCD

A drive-by post today. I wanted to share my last layout that I created for GCD Studios. The yellow pp has a wonderful shimmer finish, so I had to let the mist sit for a bit for the colour to take to the paper. I also really enjoyed using the border paper, popping one over top of the other.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you find some time to create!

Lucky me and GCD Studios

Last spring, I was very lucky to be selected to be the guest today over at GCD Studios! The box that came to my door, was generously filled to the brim with wonderful product! And yes, it included the new Chip Art tools (Yippee)! I loved every minute of the creating I did! I came up with four projects to share with you.

First up, a card. I let the paper do the work. I am a big fan of creating layers with the existing design on pp!

For my altered item, I created a frame that will find a special spot in DDs room! Oh, that Flutter from the Ava collection. I will be hoarding every scrap!

And of course, my layout to share. I need to tell you that I love it when a company makes the packaging of the products scrap-able. I took one look at the packaging that came with the Homespun Chic Epoxy stickers and knew just what I was going to create! You'll notice in one of the close-ups that I put the Chip Art tools to work. A little heart, perfect size to tuck a pearl into! Those are the kind of details that suit me and my style.

The fourth project is another layout, but you'll have to head over to the GCD Studios blog to check it out! I used a little mist on that layout as well, but the effects were much more subtle (I loved it!). The shimmer finish on the paper resisted the mist, so I had to let it sit for a bit for the colour to take to the paper.

A super big thank you to GCD Studios and Heidi for such a wonderful experience! I am looking forward to creating more, using the Chip Art tools and all the pp.

Thanks for stopping in! Have a great day!

Delightful you

Hello! The joy of a long weekend, is that there is always time to scrap (seeing as there is another day to push the chores off to ;) It is always fun to try and use items I wouldn't normally use. I have three (different) full packages of these Sassafras die cut flowers. They have come to me in kits. I finally decided that I need to try to use some on a layout. Here's what I came up with:

Our daughter is delightful and difficult as the same time. I imagine many five year old little girls are like this, but you never know! Sometimes it seems like no one can be quite as dramatic or demanding as our daughter, especially when it is happening in a public place...

I am really enjoying the MME releases for this fall. Great details, fun colours and wonderful feel!

Thanks for stopping in! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Scrappin' Great Deals September Kit

Hello! It's that time again. Another great kit from Scrappin' Great Deals to share with you. Big congrats to Lori, who was asked to join me as another resident designer! That, and Lori put together this month's kit! Check it out:
I had so much fun with this kit! I could easily go either way, boy or girl layouts without any difficulty.

First up, Mr. A on the slide at the local park. He went from needing us to hold his hand to doing it all independently overnight. Time really flies...

There aren't too many pics of me and each of the kids, but that's because I am behind the camera most of the time. I do need to change that!

Finally, it's hard to argue with a little lady who takes after her mom in the 'need to create' department. She loves to draw, colour, dance and dress-up. The die cut title was perfect for this page!

If you decide you want to add a little something to the kit, I would like to suggest the corrugated alpha by Jillibean Soup. I used the green, but the white or the kraft would also work really well with this kit. Don't forget to head over and see what Lori created! I find her use of ink inspiring!

A great big thanks to Sheila for having me on for this last year, designing with her kits! It has been tremendous fun. And I get to keep playing until December! Woot!

Thanks for stopping in! Have a great day!
